Tips for Starting your Fitness Journey

Happy Wednesday Fem Fam !! We hope your week is going well. Today we wanted to go over some tips for when your are starting your fitness journey, or maybe you've already started and these might help you on your way. There is a lot of information when it comes to fitness which is great, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming so hopefully these tips help get you on your way. 

Tip #1 - Everyone is different 

It's important to remember that everyone is different. Their journeys will be different to yours and that is okay. This means that your progress, how your body reacts and what you like and don't like will differ too. It's great to look to others for inspiration and knowledge but remember this is YOUR journey and it is going to be as unique as you are. Accept it and go with it !!

Tip #2 - Trial and Error is KEY

It's important to try different things when it comes to fitness. There isn't only one way to achieve your fitness goals so it's important to try different things to see what really resonates with you. Try different workout routines and styles, try different eating patterns, different techniques of measurement. You have to enjoy what you're doing or else you aren't likely to stick to it or you'll just be miserable doing it. It's possible to achieve your goals and have fun at the same time. 

Tip #3 - ENJOY THE PROCESS

This is probably one of the most important tips we can give. You have to enjoy the process because it is just that, a process. Nothing happens overnight and when it comes to fitness like most things in life, we want it now. That's just not how it works. Time is going to pass regardless, whether you are working on bettering yourself or not, it's still going to pass so instead of getting caught up on the results learn to love the process as much as the goals. Otherwise you will be miserable and stressed out about not getting the results fast enough. Enjoy the process, enjoy and celebrate the little changes not just physically but mentally and emotionally. 

Tip #4 - There are no rules or one way of doing things

Another important tip to keep in mind is that there are no 'rules' when it comes to fitness. Of course there is science, but there isn't a 'one size' or 'one way' fits all. You get to decide how your fitness journey looks. You don't have to count macros to see results, you don't have to only do cardio to get lean. You don't have to do something a certain way because your favourite influencer told you to. What you should do is listen to your body, decide what works best for you (often through trial and error) and enjoy the process !! Don't get caught up on what someone else is or isn't doing, there are no rules.
